Bound in a floral embroidered cloth, with watered silk doublures, bound by R. Ingalton Drake of Eton.

Two volumes bound in one, Anglo-Indian stories by Brownlow Fforde, an interesting volume of colonial literature, by the publishers of the Indian Railway Library

The Subaltern, The Policeman, and The Little Girl, the third edition, published in 1891. This novella is set in Somnolia, an interesting work which follows the misadventures of the three titular characters.

That Little Owl, the first edition, published in 1893. This is  a tale of a lunatic, a loafer, and a lover.

Each volume is illustrated with the occasional in-text engraving. 

By Arthur Brownlow Fforde, who also wrote The Trotter, and The Maid and the Idol.


CONDITION

In a full floral embroidered cloth with watered silk doublures, bound by R. Ingalton Drake of Eton. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the spine and extremities. Light rubbing and marks to the spine label. A small amount of label remnants to the tail of the spine. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Only a few minor marks to the boards, including discolouration to the tail of the front board. Front hinge is starting but firm. Rear hinge is a little strained but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
